ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CBD & CBD OIL
Hemp Oil by WANDA BROKER – for body awareness and well-being – captures the unstoppable force of a plant which was underappreciated and suppressed for far too long. Today, a thousand years later, we witness a true hemp renaissance.
WHAT IS CBD?
CBD is an abbreviation for cannabidiol, which is one of over 100 cannabinoids so far identified to be contained in cannabis.
CBD is the second strongest concentrated cannabinoid found in cannabis and, unlike THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), it does not induce any form of intoxication.
IS CBD LEGAL?
In general, CBD products containing less than 0.2% of THC are legal across Europe and authorized for marketing as food supplements.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HEMP, MARIJUANA AND CANNABIS?
Hemp and marijuana are two different plants of the same species, and therefore they are often confused. Hemp is cultivated in the agriculture and industry, for example to produce hemp seeds, which can be added to bread, muesli and cereal or processed into oil. Marijuana is grown for its psychoactive properties.
CAN CBD HELP ME WITH MY ILLNESS?
Unfortunately there can be no reliable medical statements made about CBD. We recommend making your own research and consulting a doctor. However, this is common knowledge that CBD can be used as auxiliary agent in the treatment of a number of health problems (following are some examples):
- CBD oil against insomnia
The consequences of insomnia (sleeplessness) include extreme fatigue and weakness. At some point productivity is reduced to almost zero and any professional activity can result in errors or even, at least in come professions, life-threatening injuries. As a result, some people opt for sleeping drugs (hypnotics). However, sleeping pills can also be dangerous; not only can they make you feel dead tired after waking up in the morning, but they can also be addictive.
Cannabidiol oil is a good alternative to sleeping agents as it is considered completely free from side effects. You begin your day fully rested and the CBD ingredients protect you against insomnia in a natural way. Overdosing can possible cause tiredness, however, cannabidiol oil is a far better choice because, unlike chemical substances, it allows you to wake up in the morning feeling more relaxed and rested. - Giving up smoking with CBD oil
A study revealed that CBD oil can help you become nicotine-free. In the study, twelve smokers were asked to inhale CBD as soon as they felt the urge to smoke. The other twelve smokers received placebo. No changes were observed in the placebo group, but subjects in the CBD group experienced a reduction in the craving for cigarettes.
In addition, the number of cigarettes they smoked decreased by around 40 percent. - Anti-acne properties
Acne has become not only the problem of adolescents. An increasing number of adults experience skin problems and are more likely to be affected by acne. CBD oil, which exhibits anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, can help them overcome this problem. It can contribute to rebalancing sebum secretion and can provide a lasting anti-acne effect. - Against stress, overload and nervousness
Cannabidiol oil is best known for its calming properties; it helps alleviate stress, overload, nervousness and anxiety. It has a soothing and relaxing effect. - Prevention of diabetes with CBD oil
CBD oil is reputed to have a beneficial effect on the prevention of diabetes. This finding was observed in studies on mice. No cases of diabetes were identified in overweigh mice which were exposed to CBD, despite unhealthy eating habits and persisting overweight, which are both typical risk factors of diabetes. In contrast, diabetes was diagnosed in many mice in the placebo group. - Alleviating the symptoms of multiple sclerosis
Alleviating effects of CBD on the symptoms of multiple sclerosis was observed in a study on mice. The mice were exposed to CBD for ten days and showed improvement in general condition and mobility. While further studies must be carried out, the first indications of CBD action in multiple sclerosis are already there. - Alleviating the symptoms of Crohn's disease and fibromyalgia
According to numerous reports, CBD oil has a positive effect on the Crohn’s disease owing to its anti-inflammatory action. Significant improvements were reported in patients diagnosed with the Crohn’s disease after they started using CBD oil.
CBD can also considerably attenuate the symptoms of fibromyalgia. In one study, a group of patients were receiving traditional medications and the other group was also using CBD. No apparent improvements were observed in non-CBD patients. However, the conclusions of this study must be confirmed in further research. - Against asthma and allergies
Cannabidiol oil can be useful in tackling health disorders related to asthma and allergies. It stimulates the immune system and has anti-inflammatory properties. Asthma can result from immune system disorders, which is why it can be effectively attenuated with CBD oil. The same applies to patients suffering from allergies since, by strengthening the immune system, the body's own defense system can more effectively combat allergies. The symptoms of allergy can be alleviated or even eliminated. - Otherapplications
CBD oil is very widely used and it can have many more applications, in addition to the ones already outlined. Accordingly, the cannabidiol oil can also be useful in a number of other health conditions:- Alzheimer’s disease,
- Arthrosis,
- BSE,
- Nausea and vomiting,
- Epilepsy,
- Obesity and overweight,
- Hepatitis,
- Cancer,
- Neurological diseases,
- Rheumatism,
- Sepsis,
- Addictive disorders.
- CBD oil for Alzheimer's and dementia
Alzheimer’s and dementia are degenerative diseases of the brain in which nerve pathways are damaged by a toxic protein, leading to the progressive death of brain tissue. There are several studies on animals which suggest that CBD oil can have a therapeutic effect in Alzheimer's and dementia. However, it is still far too early to come up with any conclusive statements that may raise our hopes too much. - CBD oil in arthrosis
Arthrosis is a degenerative disease of the cartilage tissue. CBD oil has anti-inflammatory properties and can have an alleviating effect in the initial stage of arthrosis and arthritis. However, if cartilage tissue has already been lost, it cannot be rebuilt by means of CBD oil therapy. CBD oil can only be used as a remedy against pain associated with arthrosis. - CBD oil in BSE
BSE is a degenerative disease of the brain caused by a misfolded protein, known as a prion. But there is no evidence so far that CBD oil is of any use in the management of BSE. BSE is a serious, contagious and terminal disease. Therefore we must distance ourselves from any claims concerning the therapeutic effects of CBD oil in BSE. - CBD oil for nausea and vomiting
CBD oil is first and foremost an oily substance. Hence, its use during nausea and vomiting is generally considered suboptimal. CBD oil can only be consumed in the form of drops, but an attempt will do you no harm. CBD has powerful soothing effects and can alleviate the feeling of sickness. - CBD oil in epilepsy
There are impressive videos on YouTube presenting patients with acute epilepsy who experienced dramatic improvements after exposure to CBD. If you want to use CBD oil to treat your epilepsy or that of your child, make sure to first consult a doctor who supports this type of therapy. Epilepsy can progress to a life-threatening condition. It leaves no time for experiments. - CBD oil in obesity and overweight
CBD oil has a confirmed appetite restraining effect. It can be used as a complementary therapy to support a change in the eating habits. Obesity and overweight, however, should primarily be managed with the use of healthy diet low in carbohydrates and a lot of exercise. CBD oil should not be used as the sole remedy to lose weight. - CBD oil in hepatitis
Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver which needs medical intervention. We strongly advise against any attempts to treat hepatitis with CBD oil as a self-experiment. Hepatitis can be highly contagious, depending on its type. If an inflammation of the liver is suspected, you should definitely seek medical attention. - CBD oil in cancer diseases
CBD oil can be used in the management of specific side effects of chemotherapy during cancer after-care. However, CBD oil is definitely not a remedy for cancer. Moreover, CBD oil is a natural appetite suppressant and its use during cancer treatment is considered problematic. Cancer patients have a high demand on calories in order to have enough strength to combat malignant cells. Also, there are multiple studies investigating the effects of CBD on cancer. CBD action is examined in many different types of cancer.
In the course of several studies, CBD effects on brain tumors have been investigated. CBD was demonstrated to contribute to a significant reduction in the viability of tumor cells. Further investigations in 2001 and in 2011 confirmed these initial findings.
Researchers also report positive effects of CBD in other types of cancer. For example, CBD was found to have an outstanding effect in lung cancers, which are very aggressive and resistant to chemotherapy. (Information about the studies: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/21097714, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22198381)
Researchers of course also dealt with CBD effects in breast cancer and have raised hope among many women. On the one hand, CBD was demonstrated to slow down tumor growth, and on the other hand, it was demonstrated to inhibit the spread of cancer cells.
There are also studies investigating the effects of CBD in the following types of cancer:
- Pancreatic cancer,
- Blood cancer,
- Liver cancer,
- Oral cancer,
- Prostate cancer.
The numerous positive study outcomes can raise great hopes among patients that CBD oil will be soon officially recognized as a therapeutic agent. Still, it is perfectly legal to buy CBD oil and it can be acquired without being authorized for marketing as a medicinal product.
- CBD oil in neurological conditions
According to studies, CBD oil has proven particularly effective in the management of neurological conditions. There are some impressive observations especially in Parkinson's disease and in epileptic patients. Hence, our recommendation is as follows: It won't hurt to have a try. Here, however, you should preferably use high-concentration CBD oil. - CBD oil in rheumatism
There are several reports of a pain-alleviating effect of CBD oil among patients suffering from rheumatism.
We would recommend to give it a try. - CBD oil in sepsis
Sepsis is a blood infection. Its management can be very debilitating and exhausting. CBD oil can help soothe the nerves during recovery and strengthen the immune system. - CBD oil in addictive disorders
CBD oil is not an addictive agent. It can help fight depression and mitigate craving, at least according to some reports. CBD is not a remedy to addiction, but is can – to some extent – make the weaning phase less stressful and burdensome.
DOES CBD HELP IF I AM PERFECTLY HEALTHY?
CBD supports the immune system and contributes to the overall well-being. CBD docks onto your natural cannabinoid receptors in your body. CB1 receptors are responsible for controlling the central nervous system. CB2 receptors are in charge for the immune system. Both the nervous system and the immune system are important control systems in your body which balance your body functions to keep you healthy.
CAN CBD PRODUCTS MAKE ME HIGH?
No, CBD is not a psychoactive substance. It can have a relaxing effect, which some people associate with being “high”.
SIDE EFFECTS:
In general, CBD is well tolerated and has only few adverse effects. In some circumstances, CBD can inhibit the activity of hepatic medications. It can also cause the feeling of dry mouth. It can cause blood pressure to drop and can induce slight drowsiness. We recommend consulting your doctor before your use it for the first time.
HOW SHOULD HEMP OIL BE STORED?
CBD and all cannabinoids found in hemp are natural substances and break down over time. In order to prevent the degradation of your CBD oil and extend its life cycle, it should be preferably stored in a dry dark place or in a fridge.
HOW FAST DOES CBD WORK?
The onset of action after administration of CBD oil is observed only after around 15 minutes.
DOGS, HORSES, CATS AND OTHER DOMESTIC ANIMALS VERSUS CBD OIL?
Mammals, including humans, have the same cannabinoid receptor sites, CB1 and CB2, all over the body (in the brain, in the nervous system, in organs, glands, gastrointestinal tract, skin, and tissues), forming the so-called endocannabinoid system. Cannabinoids attach to the receptors, activate them and regulate the physical condition of the body.
If an animal is exposed to stressful situations, is anxious or in pain, it can also benefit from the properties of CBD oil.
How does CBD oil work in domestic animals? It...
- has a relaxing and calming effect,
- reduces anxiety and stress levels,
- helps alleviate chronic pain,
- improves neurological symptoms,
- stimulates the animals to be more active and to move more,
- supports proper digestion,
- strengthens the immune system
- provides comfort during the last hours of life
